Get up and running with Grimoire in 5 minutes.
Welcome to Grimoire! This guide will help you create your first campaign and start organizing your world.
Step 1: Create Your Account
Sign up using Google or Discord OAuth. No password to remember. Just click and go.
Step 2: Create a Campaign
- After signing in, you'll land on the campaign list
- Click "Create Campaign"
- Give your campaign a name (e.g., "Curse of Strahd" or "My Homebrew World")
- Choose a starting template or start fresh
Step 3: Add Your First Entries
Start with the basics:
- NPCs: Add the key characters your players will meet
- Locations: Create the places they'll visit
- Factions: Define the groups vying for power
Each entry type has fields designed specifically for TTRPGs: motivations, secrets, relationships, and more.
Step 4: Connect Everything
The real power of Grimoire comes from connections:
- Link NPCs to their factions
- Connect locations to their inhabitants
- Track relationships between characters
These connections power the knowledge graphs and make AI queries more intelligent.
Step 5: Set Visibility
Before sharing with players:
- Review each entry's visibility level
- DM Secret: Only you can see it
- Player Knowledge: Players who've discovered it can see it
- Common Knowledge: Everyone can see it
